About

Danny List is a professional golfer competing on the DP World Tour. Born in Macon, Georgia in the United States to a Ghanaian mother and an Australian father, List was raised in Accra, Ghana, where he developed his game from an early age and has since emerged as a distinctive player in professional golf

List began playing golf at the age of three after receiving a set of plastic clubs from his uncle. Growing up in Ghana, he honed his skills on underdeveloped courses, often playing on sand greens and sparse fairways. By the age of eight, he was regularly competing against and defeating adult players. During this time, he drew inspiration from Tiger Woods, studying his performances and waking early to watch PGA Tour broadcasts despite the time difference.

At 13, List earned a scholarship to Wellington College after winning a winner-takes-all competition with an even-par round. His game rapidly progressed in the United Kingdom, where he became the European Junior Champion at 14 and secured back-to-back England national high school titles. He later attended University of Washington before turning professional at the age of 19.

List’s professional career has been defined by both resilience and breakthrough success. After missing the entire 2023 season due to a lower back stress fracture, he returned in 2024 with a record-setting victory at the California State Open, finishing at 21-under par. That same year, he earned his DP World Tour card through Qualifying School. In 2025, he received the Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption, personally awarded by Tiger Woods, making his PGA Tour debut at the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines.

Off the course, List is committed to growing the game globally through the Danny List Foundation, established in 2021. The foundation provides equipment, coaching, and international opportunities to young golfers in Ghana. List has stated he is on a mission to create a pathway for the next generation of West African talent.
